The Free Spirit of Woodstock is dedicated to reggae music and culture, selling a large selection of cds, memorablilia, jewelry, t-shirts (including DESIGNATERIA t-shirts and tanks!), hats and stickers. In 1984, the store's owner Lea Boss began promoting up and coming Reggae Bands on their way up, continuing to this day to provide newcomers with the opportunity to share the stage with major Reggae artists. December 15th 2009 will mark the 25th Anniversary of Upstate Reggae bringing it's first international artist; Pablo Moses & the Revolutionary Dream Band, to the tiny town of Woodstock. From there, Leah Boss has continued to bring high quality Reggae to an area starving for rhythms including Steel Pulse, Ziggy Marley, The Itals, Black Uhuru, Yellowman, Culture, the Mighty Diamonds, Third World, Luciano, Jimmy Cliff, The Wailers, Meditations, I-Threes, Marcia Griffiths, Sister Carol, Sizzla, Buju Banton, Israel Vibration, Gregory Isaacs, Alpha Blondy, Toots & The Maytals, Burning Spear, The Skatalites, Morgan Heritage, Freddie McGreggor, Michigan & Smiley w/The Studio One Band, Beres Hammond, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Mutabaruka, Frankie Paul, Shelly Thunder, Maxi Priest, Sugar Minott, Midnite,Warrior King and many more...
